My ideal training timeline for future dogs
I recently put together a timeline of Scout’s training skills over our life together. It’s simply a representation of our own pacing and order — how things played out in our personal reality — and not a suggestion of how things “should” be for any other dog-owner teams.
But it did get me thinking about what an ideal training timeline would be for any future dogs I have. Now that I’ve earned deeper training knowledge (both theoretically and practically) and lived with a dog in a range of different situations (apartments, houses, full-time on the road…) I feel more equipped to prioritize efficiently. Plus some of my overall values have evolved, too!
