First drafted on May 8th near Portland, Maine.

Yesterday was the first time someone called the cops on our van. It unsettled more more than I’d like to admit. I mean, I just wrote about how comfortable I’ve come to feel in various parking lots. Come on!

The officer, to his credit, was not thrilled about having to check on us. He made it clear the visit wasn’t his decision. We were at a public park, during the middle of the day, doing exactly nothing wrong. He smiled a lot, barely glanced at Sean’s driver’s license, told us we were good.

But someone with sway in the town had called in the yellow van at Memorial Park… so it had to be dealt with.
