Interesting perspective. I found my dog, Mr. Bones, in a shelter in Denver, Colorado in June 2022, when I was just starting out. He had been abused by the previous owners. So any life was better than what he had gone through. He is super friendly and enjoys meeting and LICKING people everywhere we go. And exploring dog parks. There does not seem to be a single standard or perspective on whether roaming is good for dogs or not. But you seem very ethical about it.
